When Amazon phased out Honeycode, Bluecrew needed to move quickly to preserve a critical internal workflow used to manage applicant and onboarding data.
Rather than simply recreate the old application, we used the migration as an opportunity to improve the system—building a Retool app natively connected to Bluecrew's SQL database and reducing unnecessary manual steps throughout the hiring workflow.

This was not simply a platform migration. Bluecrew needed a more scalable internal tool that could improve the onboarding process while maintaining access to live hiring data.
We rebuilt the Honeycode application in Retool and connected it directly to Bluecrew's existing SQL database.
Instead of duplicating data across systems or relying on manual synchronization, the Retool application could access current applicant information directly from the underlying AWS environment.
